He and his wife, Bobbie have introduced the concept of individual and group therapy based on carefrontation, a loving, safe, therapeutic confrontation enabling everyone to understand his or her healing potential. Motivational, inspirational and down-to-earth, Bernie's approach is one of compassion, caring and love coupled with a wonderful sense of humor. Barry Bittman, MDBarry Bittman, MD, neurologist, researcher, mind-body lecturer, award-winning producer-director, author and inventor is the CEO of ECaP. He is also the CEO of the Mind-Body Wellness Center which is dedicated to the integration of scientifically validated whole person approaches in traditional medicine. Dr. Bittman is also the co-developer of the patient program, Insights for Living Beyond Cancer with Bernie. With an emphasis on Psychoneuroimmunology, the medical discipline that studies the interaction between emotions, the nervous system and immune function, Dr.Bittman started TouchStar Productions, a company dedicated to creating resources for helping individuals become active participants in their healing process. Dr. Bittman's latest peer-reviewed research publications focus on quality of life improvement through creative musical expression. His research perspectives range from bio-psycho-social measures to genomic expression.  Kevin Henry, M.Ed, LSWKevin Henry, M.Ed, LSW is a licensed social worker with 24 years of experience working with children and adults at The Rehabilitation Institute in Pittsburgh. He has been a special education teacher, a therapist and clinical manager for children and adults with head injuries (co-authoring chapters in two texts), and a behavioral medicine specialist treating individuals with chronic debilitating medical conditions. For 20 years, he has provided counseling for terminally ill patients and their families, and has served as a facilitator for bereavement groups. A certified instructor in Medical Qigong, he has extensive experience teaching this and Tai Chi. Kevin has led retreats and workshops focusing on integrative aspects of health, psychology and spirituality in schools, businesses and hospitals.  Kathy Berkey, PhDKathy Berkey, PhD is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's degree from Xavier University in Clinical Psychology and a Ph.D. degree in Counseling Psychology from Gannon University. Kathy has many years experience in this field including the provision of services to child, adolescent, and adult populations. Kathy's specialties include but are not limited to the treatment of depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, relationship issues, separation and divorce, co-parenting, abuse issues, and bereavement. |
